A backflow preventer test includes:
- Visual inspection
- Test the assembly
- Verify it is working correctly and it is within the manufacturer specs.
- Please Note: the water will be temporarily shut off while testing the backflow preventer assembly.
- Record the results and attach a new annual test tag to device.
- A detailed test report will be sent to your municipality (if required).
- Courtesy Reminder Next Year
- We will send a reminder a couple months before your next annual test is due.

Backflow preventers are important. They are designed and installed to help protect our drinking water. If your backflow preventer is working correctly, it will keep contaminants and dangerous chemicals from entering the domestic water system. If you are connected a city (municipal) water supply, your backflow preventer is not only protecting your own drinking water but your neighbors as well!
If you have an in-ground sprinkler system to water your lawn and/or landscaping and it is connected to your domestic water system, then you must have a backflow preventer installed. Typically, a Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) type backflow preventer is installed where your irrigation system connects to your domestic water.
